new year’s eve

I told my friend I felt guilty because I didn’t complete any writing projects this year. I felt like I wasted 2011. She disagreed.

Three things that happened in 2011:

  • I stopped drinking.
  • I went to rehab.
  • I committed to sobriety.

As a result of these and many other factors, including the help of more than a few people, I am still sober after 9 months.

2011 has been the most challenging, intense, and transformative year of my life.
