I’m writing this blog to talk about my recovery from alcoholism. I have been sober less than a year and am working the steps in AA for the first time.

I am a writer. I’m interested in using language to tap into universal human experiences and in sharing them with readers to help them feel connected.

This blog is casual and emotional and from my head and heart, rather than from AA literature.

I will do my best to anonymize content by omitting and changing the names of people and places, etc. My goal is not to describe or complain about AA meetings (though both those things will surely happen), but to simply share my experience in early recovery. I suppose it’s also a way to help me stay sober – a commitment to sobriety that is personal and meaningful to me.

I will do my best to be thorough and consistent with tagging the posts to help you sort them by topic.

I welcome suggestions and comments.

You can read more about my intention for this blog here.
